Dorchester Alcohol & Drug Commission Remembers Janice Ruth Oglietti

Dorchester Alcohol & Drug Commission fondly remembers the late Janice Ruth Oglietti, DADC’s Prevention Director of 24 years, two year after her May 26, 2008 passing.

Mrs. Oglietti served as a founding member and president of S.T.A.R.S. (Summerville Takes A Responsible Stand) which began 20 years ago to address issues of teenage substance abuse in the Summerville area.

Mrs. Oglietti’s contributions are rich and extensive and are sure to affect the Prevention field indefinitely across our community, and across the nation.

In honor of Mrs. Oglietti, S.T.A.R.S. awarded four graduating seniors $500 scholarships in recognition of the students’ volunteerism in the field of Prevention.
